Thule was started in sweden in 1942 by Erik Thulin, who's first product was a pike trap which he sold to the Scandinavian fishermen.
By the 1960s car products were Thule's main business with roof racks the leading product.
The Thulin family sold the company to a publicly listed company called Eldon in 1979 who continued to grow the Thule brand with such products as trailers, roof boxes and even snow chains.
Then in 2006 Thule acquired the towbar company Brink and Thule Towing Systems was created. Today Thule are original equipment manufacturers of towbars for several major vehicle manufactures inc Land rover, Toyota and jaguar.
Thule is a major name in towbars all through europe and beyond, specialising in all towbar variants with, swan neck, fixed flange ball, detachable and retractable systems available.
